What Is a Bit Encryption?

What is a bit, or bit encryption?
When you purchases a SSL certificate, you will be prompted to choose the type of encryption you wish to purchase for you site.
As you probably aware by now SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. SSL certificates allow your web site to receive payment and/or personal and sensitive information from your customers via a very secure channel. You may not require a 256 bit encryption, and paying for it may not be an option to you if you are on a tight budget.
